VERTEXWERKS
This 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera belongs to one of our owners, Sam Um.
At the beginning of 2025 he decided to make his car a rolling laboratory for Werks Gruppe. If you know Sam, you know he is always tinkering, modifying and improving this car which is part of what makes this build so special.

Mad Science
Ever since he got this car in 2016, Sam has been modifying just about every aspect of this 88 Carrera. Starting with RuF style bumpers, he sculpted his own splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser. There are custom made parts throughout this car, all made by hand in Sams garage.

The livery on the car was done by a close friend of ours son and we think it turned out incredibly well. We're using this car to prototype our Safari 911 products and the car is currently sporting one of our latest prototypes of a new bumper design we are working on.

Lighting is a big part of building a functional off-road car. Our 911 Light Pod is a replica of the factory SCRS pod and features 4 Hella 4000 Compact lights. The fiberglass pod enclosure is made locally here in Oregon.

Our Tire Rack was designed to mount low over the back window in order to keep the center of gravity as low as possible.

Details Matter
The overall concept of building Sams car into a rolling test bed is that we can use all the products we make and sell to make sure we only represent the best components available. From Scheel-Mann seats to MCS Shocks and Braid wheels we are committed to building Safari 911's that are not only fun to drive off road but are also built with parts that can take the abuse.

Interior
For G-Body 911's we love the Scheel-Mann 101 seats because they just look right for the size of the cars. They are ultra comfortable for long drives and hold you stable in all types of off road or street conditions. The best seats made in Germany.

As you can see, this car turned out stunning and it drives as good as it looks.
The complete package works together flawlessly to create the ultimate driving experience that must be experienced to understand.

Form Follows Function
All our Safari 911 parts are made right here in Portland, Oregon. Our tubular steel parts are fabricated and TIG welded by our in-house fabricator with over 30 years of experience. Our Aluminum Skid Plates are precision laser cut from 3/16 material to protect the vulnerable fuel system and engine.
Everything we design for these 911's is well thought out and made with great care and quality.
