The "TIMBERLINE" Commission
This Pacific Blue 1982 Porsche 911SC was chosen as our 1st Werks Gruppe in-house Safari build because it had been upgraded with a 3.2 Liter Carrera engine and transmission.

This 1982 Porsche 911SC coupe was acquired by the seller in 2024 and subsequently modified in Safari style, including a lifted suspension, 16″ Braid wheels with BFGoodrich tires, a Warn winch, skid plates, bumper guards, and auxiliary rally lighting. The replacement 3.2-liter flat-six was rebuilt in 2025 by Rothsport of Sherwood, Oregon, and a Wavetrac limited-slip differential and a Sachs clutch were also installed. The car has been repainted in Pacific Blue, and the interior houses fixed-back Scheel-Mann 101 seats trimmed in black leatherette with Pepita cloth inserts along with a roll bar, a 370mm MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, RS-style carpets, a Continental stereo, and Carbone door panels.

White-finished 16″ Braid Winrace T wheels are mounted with 215/65 BFGoodrich All-Terrain K02 tires, and a matching spare is housed on the rear carrier. The brake rotors and pads were replaced during the build. Motion Control 1WNR shocks were installed along with 30mm H&R wheel spacers, 19mm front and 26mm torsion bars, an ERP bump steer kit, decambered ball joints, Turbo tie rods, and adjustable rear spring plates. Elephant Racing suspension bushings were also added throughout.

The car was repainted in Pacific Blue during the build and fitted with Werks Gruppe Safari-style equipment, including front and rear bumper guards with skid plates, an auxiliary light pod with Hella lights, and a rear spare tire carrier. The windshield, window seals, and sunroof seals were replaced at that time, a Warn winch was added, and the hood and decklid were wrapped in white vinyl.

A roll bar sits behind fixed-back Scheel-Mann 101 sport seats that are upholstered in black leatherette with Pepita cloth inserts. RS-style carpets and Carbone door panels were installed during the build in addition to a Chase Bays Hydro handbrake, a Continental head unit with Bluetooth, and a 370mm MOMO Prototipo steering wheel.

Instrumentation includes a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a 150-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for oil level, oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 148k miles.

The 3.2L flat-six was installed in 2020 and was overhauled by Rothsport in 2025, including rebuilding the connecting rods and installing replacement 3.2-liter pistons, ARP rod bolts, and Dilivar head studs. A Carrera oil cooler was fitted in the right front fender and a Dansk sport muffler was installed.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. A Wavetrac limited-slip differential and Sachs clutch were installed during the build.

Build #001 Timberline
We really love building these 911's and they are a joy to drive off road. It was fun to sell our 1st build on Bring a Trailer and we really enjoyed getting to know the new owner. We know he will enjoy Timberline for years to come.
